Belgian Thomas Pieters wins the second annual D+D REAL Czech Masters!

The 23-year old Belgian finally made it. Thomas Pieters won his first title on the European Tour at the Albatross Golf Club. He entered the last round as the leader and defended his position. The defining moment was secured with his four day total at -20, and his whole family was there. They started to drive at 3 am from Antwerp. They bet that this time it will work out. Last year at the Open de Espana he ended up second and at the beginning of this year in Abu Dhabi finished a strong fourth. Pieters was the only player under 70 for all four rounds. For his title he received a check for 166,660 Euros.

Vitek Novak took 63rd placed and in the final round he went in par. 63rd position  is also the best result among the Czech players in European Tour history. Filip Mrůzek played his worst round. 77 shots banished him to the 68th position. His first European Tour earnings are 1866 Euros.

Both Czech players received bottles of Moët Chandon from Jan Kotuc, the director of Moët Hennessy representation in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The award ceremony was attended by Peter Dedek – owner of RELMOST, Keith Waters – Executive Director of European Tour, Adriana Krnacova – Mayor of the City of Prague, Miguel Vidaor – Tournament Director, Dr. Jiří Šimáně – owner of Albatross Golf Resort, Jan Špilar – Director of Finance and Facility Management Department of Czech Tourism. Nils Jebens – owner of the Kampa Group, Paul Foubík – owner of BRUDRA and Jaroslav Pajonk – General Manager of CENTR GROUP.

We would like to say thank you for the support of all the spectators and business partners and we are looking forward seeing you again next year from August 18 to August 21 at Albatross.
